This week, we remember the day Jesus returned to heaven – not to leave us, but to send us out.
Jesus said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” (Matthew 28:19–20, NIV)
Jesus trusts us with His mission – to go into the world and share the Good News of salvation. And with that, He gives us a promise: that He is with us always, wherever we are, whoever we’re with, and whatever we’re doing.
Lord Jesus, we remember our calling to “go, make disciples”, thanking you for trusting us with your mission. Help us to boldly share your Good News wherever we go, to be Good News in our communities. And remind us daily of your promise to always be with us – giving us courage, wisdom, and love.
Come, Holy Spirit, empower us to be your witnesses today and always.
Amen.
Who could you share the love of Jesus with this week?
