Christmas is fast approaching, and preparations are beginning again at The Salvation Army in Horsham, to offer support to local families who are experiencing hardship through its annual ‘Be a Star’ Christmas Appeal. Last Christmas, the appeal helped 231 local families – that’s over 840 individuals! Families are referred anonymously by schools and support agencies to ensure help reaches those most in need while protecting their privacy.
The appeal provides toys and gifts for children up to 18, toiletries and gift vouchers for teenagers, and a £20 supermarket voucher towards Christmas dinner. Where possible, gifts are also provided for parents and carers. Every household also receives a Christmas card, a leaflet about Jesus, and a Salvation Army Christmas magazine.
How to help:
- Donate gifts: New, unwrapped gifts (toys/games, toiletries sets) are welcome.
- Drop-off Location & Deadline: Donations should delivered to the Salvation Army Christian Centre, Booth Way, Horsham, RH13 5PZ, on weekdays, by the end of November
- Make a financial donation: Donations can be made via the Horsham Salvation Army website.
- Become a donation station: If your church is collecting gifts, please contact Lieutenant Rachel Abbott at Horsham Salvation Army. Email: horsham@salvationarmy.org.uk. Tel: 01403 254 624.
Every contribution helps bring hope and joy to local families this Christmas. Thank you for your generous support.
