As we mark Ascension Day this week we join with Christians around the world as part of the Thy Kingdom Come movement, with this year’s theme “God with us.”
As we mark Ascension Day this week we join with Christians around the world as part of the Thy Kingdom Come movement, with this year’s theme “God with us.” As Jesus returns to the Father and promises the gift of the Holy Spirit, we are reminded that God is not distant, but present with us – at work in ordinary lives and places.
- Pray for five people in your own life who do not yet know Jesus, asking that they may encounter the reality of God with us – not just as an idea, but as a living presence in their lives.
- Pray that we, as local churches, would grow in awareness of God’s presence by his Spirit – becoming people of prayer, attentive and open to where he is already at work among us.
- Pray for Horsham and the surrounding villages, that in everyday places – homes, workplaces, schools, and streets – many would glimpse and experience God with us through acts of love, welcome, and faithfulness.
