Sanctuary Sunday falls on June 21, 2026. It takes place at the end of Refugee Week (June 15–21, 2026) to celebrate cultures of welcome, hospitality, and safety in churches across the UK. This year’s Refugee Week theme is “Courage”, recognising the strength it takes to flee danger, begin again in a new place, and build hope for the future.
During Sanctuary Sunday and Refugee Week, we join churches, communities, and organisations across the UK in celebrating the courage, resilience, and contribution of refugees and people seeking sanctuary.
