Pilgrims’ Friend Society have submitted a planning application for a new 72-bed Christian care home next to Hazelwick School in Three Bridges, Crawley. The home will provide the Christian care and community to help older people to flourish in their later years, creating up to 200 jobs.
The site is being sold by Hazelwick School and will turn underused land around the former caretaker’s cottage into a hub of care and community. Serving Crawley, Horsham and the surrounding areas, their vision is to help local churches to care for elderly people in their communities, as well as providing older people with residential care that enables fulfilled living in later life. Both Pilgrims’ Friend Society and Hazelwick School also anticipate growing intergenerational connections between the home and the school as they explore ways of providing volunteering and career development opportunities for students.
Crawley Borough Council are inviting comments on the planning application, and your comments could make a real difference in whether the planning application is accepted or not. Comments should be submitted before 8th of June through at Planning Register – Crawley Borough Council. It’s fairly straightforward and should only take a few minutes.
