When was the last time you stopped to thank God for your daily bread?
Churches across Horsham District are celebrating with Harvest Festivals, thanking God for His provision. Harvest is a time to give thanks to the Lord for the food we enjoy and for everyone who plays a part in bringing it to our tables – farmers and fishermen, drivers and factory workers, those working in retail and hospitality.
As we count our blessings, pause to remember those living in our community who are finding it hard to put food on the table, especially those relying on the support of food banks run by Horsham Matters and the Salvation Army here in Horsham.
Lord, “Give us today our daily bread.”
We thank you for your daily goodness to us,
and for all who work to bring food to our tables –
farmers and fishermen,
drivers and factory workers,
retail and hospitality staff,
and all who cook our food this day.Lord, “Give us today our daily bread.”
We remember before you those in our own community
who struggle to put food on the table,
and we pray for the staff and volunteers at the food banks
run by Horsham Matters and the Salvation Army.Lord, “Give us today our daily bread.”
Give us hearts of compassion,
ready to share our blessings with others,
to be an answer to prayer for the person who praysLord, “Give us today our daily bread.”
Amen.
