Today is Ash Wednesday – the beginning of Lent. It’s an invitation to pause. To step out of the noise for a moment and turn our hearts back towards God. Lent is a season to make space for God, for prayer, for grace, and for change. Small daily choices that help us grow in love for God and our neighbour. So we pray,
Lord God,
At the start of Lent, we come as we are:
a bit hurried, a bit distracted, carrying more than we sometimes admit.
Today, we choose to slow down and turn towards You again.
To make room for You once more.
To clear space in our lives for prayer, for grace, for change.
You know the parts of us that feel tired.
You know where we’ve drifted.
You know the habits that shape us, for good and for harm.
In these weeks of Lent, Lord shape us in Your ways.
Help us to grow into a deeper love for You and our neighbours.
And as we walk towards the cross, help us keep our eyes fixed on Jesus.
Amen.
