Foster Care Fortnight is a chance to celebrate the amazing foster carers who open their homes and hearts to children who need them. Did you know that 67% of children in care live with foster families?
At last week’s HCT Forum, Billy-Jo O’Leary shared about the inspiring work of Home for Good, supporting foster families in West Sussex. Around 1000 children are under the care of West Sussex County Council, with many of these children who cannot remain with their birth family being placed long distances from their homes and local communities. There is an urgent need for more local foster carers to meet the needs of children and young people in the area.
Home for Good supports West Sussex County Council in recruiting new foster carers. Churches in West Sussex can make a transformational difference by providing children and young people with stable and loving homes that are close to their schools, their friends, and their family or community.
