In a spirit-filled act of unity, a hundred Christians from churches across Horsham District gathered together for a evening of worship and prayer on Sunday 21st September 2025, organised by Horsham Churches Together. It was so encouraging to see believers from all denominations coming together to seek God’s heart for our towns and villages.
After a time of sung worship that led us to reflect on the holiness of God, we moved around the room, engaging with prayer stations to guide our hearts and minds. Everyone was also invited to kneel (or sit!) at the foot of the cross, simply asking “Lord, what are you saying to us today?”
At the “praying for the UK” prayer station, we pray into different spheres of society, including the government, businesses, healthcare, the media, and the justice system. Our nation faces so many pressures, but we trust that God can overcome. The “everyday mission” table was covered in images of daily life, asking the Lord to open our eyes to see the daily opportunities we have to shine our light and share the love of God in the week ahead.
As we prayed over each of the churches that make up Horsham Churches Together, we asked the Holy Spirit for unity, fruitfulness in mission and boldness to share the good news of Jesus. Our hearts desire is to see revival in our town and villages – an explosion of growth in the kingdom of God. We also entrusted the future of our children and young people to God, as they navigate the daily challenges of relationships, identity, peer pressure, and mental health. Using a map of local schools and colleges, we prayed for each one by name, lifting up the staff, the students and their families.
As we ended the evening, we joined together in unison using the words Jesus taught us to pray, seeking, “Your kingdom come, Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven”.
