At this busy time of year for farming and agricultural communities, we give thanks for the faithfulness of Christians rooted in villages throughout Horsham District. From small chapels to parish churches, rural ministry takes many forms, but at its heart, followers of Jesus are living faithfully in the midst of their communities.
A chapel opens its doors for a weekly coffee morning. A congregation supports a local school. A neighbour lends a hand or offers a lift. These might not be headline-grabbing moments, but they are signs of the Kingdom, glimpses of God at work in ordinary life.
As we mark Rural Mission Sunday on 20th July 2025, we invite you to pray with our rural churches and chapels. Pray for boldness in witness, resilience in service, and for fresh vision and encouragement as they share the love of God where they are rooted.
The Arthur Rank Centre is an ecumenical national charity in association with Churches Together in England. Their mission is to resource, train, and advocate for rural Christians, rural churches and the communities they serve.
