During these summer months, many of us enjoy spending more time outdoors, sitting in our gardens, walking in the countryside or having fun at the beach. As we enjoy the gift of God’s creation, take a moment to reflect on the environmental impact of our lifestyle. What is God saying to you as you listen to the nature that surrounds you?
So we pray:
Loving God,
You made this world and saw that it was good.
Rich in beauty, bursting with life,
woven together with care and love.Yet we’ve lived as though the earth belongs to us, not to you.
We’ve used more than we need,
we’ve taken more than we given,
and we’ve left others to pay the price.
Forgive us, Lord.Open our eyes to see the world as you do,
and give us the courage to live differently,
so that we might truly care for your creation
and make a positive impact in your world.Amen
