Prayer Ideas
24-7 Prayer have suggested creative Prayer Room Activities that will be used by communities across the world, to reflect on the power of prayer, to plant seeds of new life in your community and to inspire change in our country and nation. Inspired by this, we’ll be posting everyday on the Horsham Virtual Prayer Room to carry us through the week:
Day 1: A Call to Prayer for the Nations This week, we are joining in the global week of prayer. Today, let’s pray for the nations. Let’s ask God to bring healing to our world and to the countries on our hearts. Take a moment to think of a nation you feel drawn to pray for, and ask God to pour out His peace and love on its people.
Day 2: A Call to Persistence Today, our theme is persistence in prayer. Is there something you’ve been praying for that feels like it’s taking a long time? Don’t give up! Join us today in persistently asking God to move in that situation. Keep trusting that He hears you and is working behind the scenes.
Day 3: The Power of Prayer Let’s pray daring and bold prayers today. What is a prayer that seems impossible to you? Bring it before God with confidence, believing that He is able to do more than we could ever ask or imagine. Let’s pray for miracles in our lives and in the lives of those around us.
Day 4: Praying for New Life Our theme for today is new life. Let’s pray for new hope and new beginnings for people who are struggling. Think of someone who needs a fresh start, and ask God to plant new life in their situation. Just as a seed holds the promise of a plant, let’s believe that new life is possible through prayer.
Day 5: God’s Presence Goes with Us Today is about becoming more aware of God’s presence. Sometimes it’s easy to get caught up in our busy lives and forget that God is with us always. Take a moment to pause, be still, and simply acknowledge His presence. You can use your senses to do this, noticing a sound, a smell, or a feeling and thanking God for it.
Day 6: Justice and Prayer Today, we are praying for justice and mercy. Let’s lift up people and situations where there is injustice. Ask God to bring His righteousness to bear and to bring comfort to those who are suffering. We can pray for specific people, communities, or even global issues that are on our hearts.
Day 7: Empowered for Mission On our final day, let’s pray for our mission areas. Think of the places you go every day, like your home, your workplace, your school, or your neighbourhood. Let’s pray that God would empower us to be His hands and feet in these places and that He would use us to bring His love to the people there.
