As you navigate the challenging path of grief, church communities can be a source of comfort and support for those who are bereaved. All of our churches offer pastoral care for those going through bereavement, with many also offering bereavement support groups and courses.
The Bereavement Journey
The Bereavement Journey is seven part series of films and discussion groups that gently guides people bereaved at any time through the most common aspects of grief and bereavement, enabling them to process the implications for themselves and discern next steps. Bereavement Café
St John the Evangelist run a bereavement café meeting on the second Saturday of every month, from 11am to 12pm in the Church Hall. Facilitated by trained volunteers, the group discusses a theme concerning the loss of a loved one or friend, providing the opportunity for people to talk about their feelings in a relaxed setting.
Stepping Stones Bereavement Support
An informal coffee morning to meet with others who are recently bereaved for company, conversation and support. Meeting at St Mary’s Horsham on the first Thursday of the month, from 11am til 12 noon.
