The Oasis
The Oasis was established in Horsham in 1997 to provide compassionate and independent help and support to anyone facing decisions associated with an unplanned pregnancy. The Oasis is a safe place, offering free, non-directive and confidential information and support. They offer clients information on all the options, directing to other agencies as appropriate, however they are not able to refer directly for termination.
The Oasis also run a Baby Clothing and Equipment service to support anyone who is struggling financially to provide their baby with the necessary equipment or clothing. Open 1pm-3pm every Thursday at The Charis Centre, West Green Drive, Crawley RH11 7EL.
Spurgeons Counselling in Schools
Spurgeons provides affordable, accessible and effective counselling in schools to support for children and school staff. Working within 16 schools in Horsham District, the qualified counsellors are able to help children and young people that are struggling with issues such as anxiety, exclusion, behavioural challenges, self-harm, depression or children have simply withdrawn into themselves. If you are concerned about your child, please speak with their school’s welfare lead.
Renew Wellbeing
The Renew Welling Café is a quiet shared space where it’s ok not to be ok. Every Wednesday morning from 10am until 12pm at Trafalgar Road Baptist Church, the café becomes a community space for a variety of hobbies and activities. Anyone is welcome to join/share a hobby/skill or activity, or to enjoy the peace of our quiet area.
The activities are based around the ‘5 ways of wellbeing’ which promote good mental and emotional health: To connect, give, be active, keep learning and take notice. And the session finishes with an optional gathering for a brief time of quiet reflection.
Anchor Counselling
Anchor Counselling offers confidential, compassionate and professional counselling for adults in Horsham and in Reigate. Offering qualified and experienced counsellors, Anchor offers adults face to face or on-line counselling. Run as a private practice with Christian counsellors, Anchor Counselling have a bursary fund, enabling them to offer counselling to clients who would otherwise be unable to afford it.
Easy Movers
Cornerstone Methodist Church St Andrews run Easy Movers, a weekly class with a qualified instructor to help with posture, mobility, flexibility and balance. Every Friday, 10:30am – 12 noon.
StreetlightUK
StreetlightUK is a Christian outreach and front line support charity working with women at risk of or involved in prostitution. Offering a choice for change through practical and emotional support, befriending and mentoring, it aims to empower women involved in prostitution or at risk of sexual exploitation, including those trafficked into the sex trade. Streetlight aims to encourage women to find sustainable routes away from prostitution and to new life.
Family Support Work
Established in 1890 by the Diocese of Chichester, Family Support Work helps families in Sussex to overcome their difficulties and prevent crisis. They support families struggling with issues such as poverty, ill health, learning difficulties, bereavement, family break-up and domestic abuse.
